Hong Kong Regional Group Conference on "Engineering Geology in Geotechnical Risk Management" to be held on 24 November 2007

The HKRG is pleased to announce that it will host a 1-day Conference on Engineering Geology in Geotechnical Risk Management as part of the Bicentennial Celebrations of the Geological Society of London. The event will take part on Saturday 24 November 2007 at Olympic House in So Kon Po and will include key note presentations from eminent international speakers including Dr Fred Baynes and Dr Mark Lee, as well as a host of renowned local speakers.

An evening talk will be held on Thursday 3 May 2007 at the 3/F Conference Room of the Mariners Club on the above subject, starting at 6.30pm..

AGM and Technical Meeting

The Hong Kong Regional Group AGM will be held on Friday 2 March 2007 and will be followed by a short presentation entitled "Natural Terrain Hazard Assessment - An Engineering Geological Perspective" by Steve Parry. Engineering Geology in Geotechnical Risk Management, 2007 HKRG Conference -
Call for Abstracts

The Hong Kong Regional Group is pleased to announce that as part of the Geological Society of London Bicentenary celebrations in 2007 we will be hosting a 1-day conference on the topic of 'Engineering Geology in Geotechnical Risk Management'. The conference is tentatively planned for late-September 2007 and will include key-note presentations from several well-respected international experts on the subject.

With regard to the above announcement, the organising committee is now inviting prospective authors to submit abstracts of papers for consideration for presentation at the event and / or inclusion in the conference proceedings. In further recognition of the conference, selected papers will also be published in a dedicated edition of the Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology. Please refer to the Call for Abstracts attached here for further details of submission requirements and deadlines.

2007 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 3 March 2007 at the Mariners Club, TST at 6.30pm. Those people interested in sitting on the committee for the 2007-2008 session should download this form and fax it to Stuart Millis at 2268 3970 no later than 6pm on Friday 23 February 2007.
